A corneal ulcer is an open sore on your cornea. It is often caused by Infection . Symptoms include blurry or hazy vision , red painful watery eyes, increased sensitivity to light, white lesion on the cornea. If not properly treated may lead to  vision loss and blindness .

causes

Corneal ulcers are most commonly caused by an infection with bacteria, viruses, fungi, or a parasite. Acanthamoeba keratitis occurs in contact lens users. Fungal keratitis can occur after a corneal injury involving plant material and injudicious use of antibiotic and steroids.

Management

Since corneal ulcer is a sight threatening diseases it needs ugrent treatment by proper clinical evalution and laboratory investigation. Treatment options include topical medication, debridement of ulcer, cauterisation and surgical management.
